On 24 April 2017, at least 25 police officers have been killed after Maoist or “Naxalite” militants attacked their convoy in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, central India. Six others have been reported injured. Initial reports suggest that around 70 members of India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were patrolling a road construction project in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, when the ambush occurred.
